Job Title Product Quality Manager

The Product Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring products are manufactured in accordance with required specification. You will have a strong manufacturing quality background; working with senior mgt. to set-up the quality tools & stds; Ensuring quality of manufactured products & refurbishments & upgrades.

Supply Chain Quality

Co-ordinate Quality surveillance of all products within supply chain.
Develop & implement supplier control plans to deliver Quality stds. so each process is robust & repeatable.
Support Supplier Quality Strategy & work with Supplier Perf. Mgr. designing objectives.
Help select Suppliers by knowing capabilities, using performance measurement controls

Manufacturing Plant Quality

Design & implement Quality Control process for product assembly.
Implement appropriate level of Quality surveillance at manuf. to guarantee consistency
Co-ordinate 3rd party assessment including product refurb/ upgrades.
Audit, assessments & improvements
Support Supplier Perf. Mgr participating in supplier audits, setting corrective actions

Investigate non-conformances using NCR / 8D process, & implement corrective actions using a root-cause analysis approach
Implement KPI's to measure Quality performance; Monitor Quality performance & escalate deviations to ensure minimal impact on production schedules & actions taken & follow up to closure

Quality animation & focus

Share Quality & Performance Targets with mgt colleagues
Facilitate internal actions at Suppliers & Manuf. sites (Lean sigma tools implementation, SIF, VMI) to achieve assigned QCD Quality/ Cost/ Delivery targets.
Develop a "customer driven" philosophy using "Operational Excellence", "Lean/Six-Sigma Initiatives", "Continuous Improvement" & "Best Practice"
Liaise with Eng. teams to ensure technical product quality req'ments documented & reflected in test/inspection plans/procedures

Manage Quality team, set objectives, evaluation & training in line with best practices.
Leverage mgt systems to develop performance, resources skills & maximize efficiencies

Essential Skills / Attributes

A strong leader that must demonstrate excellent technical skills & exp.
Ability to drive strong Supplier relationships in a collaborative way & manage all circles of influence

Education: B.Sc. Degree in Eng./similar; Masters welcome

Min 10 years relevant exp. in quality mgt, in a world class manuf. environment preferred.
Multi-cultural awareness ; a foreign language a plus
Exp. in Power Industry / Automotive / Aerospace / Offshore Oil & Gas &/or Industrial related business in an international company
Knowledge of ERP software (Ideally SAP)
Six Sigma & Lean Manuf. knowledge
Proven record of interfacing with R&D, manuf., supply chain, procurement
Advanced level skills in M/S Office product suite including Access, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
